Wisdom
Words and music by Mark Dailey
Sitting here wondering, if this
is real life,
watching people watch me watch them.
Can’t believe a moment, from one to the next,
thinking that it’s not their problem.
No matter how much I might look
at the world,
my observations don’t mean a thing.
If I know the answer in the blink of an eye
to the many questions my life might bring.
We all need,
Wisdom in small doses, a moment of truth.
Wisdom in small doses, to know what is right.
Wisdom in small doses, I know it
Don’t you know how I must feel.
If the answer comes, from somewhere
unknown,
just there without question or doubt.
Words that seem, so matter of fact,
the blind simple truth is found out.
I don’t take apart, the things
that I feel.
I won’t build on hopes that aren’t real.
I never look for the truth in a lie.
The truth is part of how I must feel.
We all need,
Wisdom in small doses, a moment of truth.
Wisdom in small doses, to know what is right.
Wisdom in small doses, I know it
Don’t you know how I must feel.
Can’t believe that I might
be like them.
And I’m wondering if I’m alive.
See I’m stuck in a moment of truth,
As I’m looking for answers to why.
Sitting here wondering , if this
is real life,
watching people watch me watch them.
Can’t believe a moment, from one to the next
looking for the answer again.
Wisdom in small doses, a moment
of truth.
Wisdom in small doses, to know what is right.
Wisdom in small doses, I know it
Don’t you know how I must feel.
